Q days

John Stott talks in his book The Living Church about the necessity for Christian workers to take a Q day (quiet day) every once in a while to get up to date with things, but mostly to seek God and to be refreshed by spending time with him and in the Bible.

I did my first Q day a few weeks ago. Technically, the Q is supposed to stand for quiet, but in Athens, there’s not much of that (one of the problems with living in a city with 5 million other people!) However, I have found a place in the city which is pretty quiet! And check out the view!

So I spent my last Q day listening to a talk on the doctrines of grace by Arturo G Azurdia III, studying John 17, journalling, and then grabbed a lovely frappe and read some of Keller’s Counterfeit Gods.

The next Q day is due next week – can’t wait! Going to get into 1 John, finish Counterfeit Gods, spend some time with God. It’s going to be great regardles of the weather, but hopefully the sun will be out again!
